'talking' back....Sassy!
Last night, after work, I rushed home so that I could take a nap before Scott’s home game. (We won! Go Peay!) Just as I was getting cozy and very relaxed…baby kicked very hard. I waited a minute...and she kicked again in the same spot. Amused, I decided to poke at her….in the same spot. And the game began! I poked…she kicked. I poked… she kicked. And this went on for atleast a minute. It was humorous. Baby girl is already ‘talking back.’ Haha….

Hope you had a lovely Christmas! We sure did. As always, spoiled and blessed=)
The entire Combs Crew (6 adults and 4 kids) came Sunday through Christmas Eve…we celebrated every day! It was awesome!
On Christmas Eve, the Jenkins Clan went out to eat (tradition) and opened our treats afterwards (tradition as long as we are all in town). On Christmas Day, the Jenkins Clan, family friends: Pops and Barbar Blackston and Gayle and Howard Wiles came over. Mom/Dad cooked a wonderful lunch!! We played dirty santa…and had a really fun time. After that- we chilled and relaxed. It was a *wonderful* day to say the least!
Baby girl Combs is alive and well…kicks or rolls (or whatever she does) very frequently. Scott has been able to feel her move. Such a surreal feeling…but I love it.
I am currently on the big hunt for furniture and bedding. Such decisions! (haven’t made any yet…who knew that I would have such opinions on bedding. No themes, nothing too girly or fru-fru, not too pink or purple..etc.)
It’s hard to believe that I am more than half-way done. Time really has gone fast=)

I love brilliant vision….
The bailout (government loan) passed for GM and Chrysler today! Thanks, President Bush!!
This will tremendously help the auto industry as a whole…and therefore, positively help the economy. I read in Kiplinger’s Newsletter today: ‘it is estimated that 1 in 10 people that reside in USA are tied, one way or another, to the automotive industry.’ That is a TON of people!
A few years ago, the USA couldn’t grasp why Ford would close plants, etc. I can’t tell you how many negative comments I heard from people...who plainly just didn’t understand…that includes the media, too. Thank goodness for brilliant vision is all I can say! Ford had the foresight to borrow against its property and assets two years ago; risky...yes...but that has helped us in the long run. As mentioned a few years ago- but no one really wanted to hear it…or refused to see the other side of the picture…Ford started early getting back to the basics. If others followed our lead even 2 years ago, they wouldn’t be in as nearly as much trouble as they are now.
Yes, plants were shut down. But did you know that many of them were plants that were only producing one or two vehicles…and couldn’t produce as fast as needed? So, Ford, with great vision, decided to update the outdated plants! Now, plants are greener and more efficient in production. The goal is for plants to be able to produce multiple units-- faster! Also, another reason for restructure is to be able to change models every few years…and not be stuck with the old model. That way, you as a consumer, will always have fresh product to consider. Thank goodness for sound vision of Allan Mullay and the Ford Team.
Another ‘restructure vision’ that Ford started a few years ago- shifting focus from trucks to cars: getting more into the cars market and not just being known for the quality trucks. (By the way: just announced: 2009 Ford F150 was named Motor Trend Truck of the Year yesterday. A prestigious honor!) Ford will be producing a large car line-up in the next 3 years…larger than we have ever seen. Ford has recognized the need for a large, green, and efficient car market…and started acting on that vision years ago. With Ford’s decision to strongly move in the car market, they had to start to restructure the manufacture plants. They closed plants that were no longer going to be of use…and also turned plants over from a truck plants to a car plant.
The restructure and down-sizing that Ford started years ago has greatly impacted our financial state today. Ford is getting back to the basics and is only spending where necessary. One area they are not compromising is product design and development. Ford is ready for the future! (I know firsthand because I work with a Ford Team in MI on several projects.)
Ford, like all other manufactures, has a lot of growth in front of them. Ford is looking for fresh ways to connect to more customers and more ways to create a loyal buyer. We do have a steep hill to climb in 2009…but I can honestly say that I am most grateful for God placing Allan Mullay in Ford. I appreciate his wisdom and leadership and feel confident in Ford’s future…and therefore my families’ future. Jenkins & Wynne have been in business for almost 56 years in Clarksville…and none of the Jenkins clan plan to go anywhere! We are loyal to our community and customers and thrive in helping people. We are well-established and secure. We have the best employees in the area…and our customer satisfaction levels have been recognized with numerous honors and awards.
It’s funny, because I never really thought that I would get into the car business. But now that I am, I honestly couldn’t imagine myself anywhere else. Yes, I work in a very, very competitive field…that creates a daily consistency of stress and hard work….that the general public could never truly understand. But at the end of the day, I am blessed with my calling to work here, blessed with my career, and blessed to work with my family in such an incredible line of work.
Have you driven a Ford (Lincoln or Mercury) lately?

Week 20

Week 20 of Pregnancy
You've got a heavyweight in your belly at 20 weeks prego (well, in baby terms, anyway). Your little champ weighs about ten ounces and has a height, crown to rump, of about six and a half inches. Think small cantaloupe (and probably as sweet too).
If you're carrying a girl fetus, her uterus is fully formed this week and her vaginal canal is starting its development. She also has primitive eggs in her tiny little ovaries now, seven million of them — though by the time she's born, that number will be down to two million. And interestingly, your baby girl will be born with all the eggs she'll ever have.

That’s where we are now! We had an appt this week. She was very active, once again, as Dr. Anderson took her heart rate measurement. Everything looks good, he said. Her measurements are normal and her heart rate is in the normal range.

The Big 3

Curious about the conversations surrounding the Big 3? Me too!
I’ve just about stopped watching the news...as I feel that most of the time they make things to be far worse than they really are. At the beginning, the more I listened, the more frustrated I got...as they were so uninformed in their facts….it sickened me. So, once in a blue moon I’ll turn the news on…but for the most part I won’t be tainted by the media. Sick of it!
Curious on Ford’s plan? Go to: http://www.fordvehicles.com/thefordstory/ for a full report. You can see blogs/ videos/ work plans, etc...honest material!
More than ever, I am proud to represent 4 of the best brands: Ford Lincoln Mercury and Honda.

More than ever, I am proud to represent 4 of the best brands: Ford Lincoln Mercury and Honda.
For FLM- I am most proud of the vision that Prez Allan Mulally and the Ford Team started to execute a couple years ago. They had the sense to restructure, eliminate wasteful costs, and rebuild Ford from within. Because of that vision, Ford is in a cash position…$29 billion of liquidity is the last I heard. Ford is perceived to be the strongest out of the Big 3. Ford has taken the stance to not cut back on product/materials/etc…whereas some competitors have had to eliminate product development to conserve their cash position. Also, Ford Credit Financing is in the strongest position...and are able to buy a lot more than other banks.
Yes! I am for the bailout. Yes, Ford has asked for $9 billion…but in the same breath said that this money would be reserve/emergency money. GM and Chrysler need the bailout. As an industry as a whole- we need the bailout…verses either company taking bankruptcy. There has been talk of GM selling Saturn, Humvee…and possibly Pontiac….to get in a better cash position. GM must have minimum $4 billion by the end of this year. Also, Cerberus- who currently owns Chrysler- is trying to sell Chrysler. We wouldn’t need to touch the govt loan money, unless either GM and/or Chrysler take bankruptcy. If either of them does, it will cause suppliers (that we all share) to file bankruptcy...therefore, affecting every domestic and import manufacturing plant in the USA. A Ch 11 bankruptcy by any manufacture would cost retirees their health care and retirements. This would affect the taxpayer (US!) and would put us all in a worse position than the bailout would….not a good boost for our economy. It is my prayer that Congress would not vote to end health care/ retirement benefits for over 1 million retirees, eliminate 2.5 million jobs in the USA and lose future product development and technology...that is only driving (literally) our country into better vehicles…because that is what a bankruptcy would cause.
Ford has worked hard over the years to produce quality, safe, green, and smart vehicles. The F150 is the best selling truck for 31 straight years. (Competition has tried…but just can’t seem to really get it right…hence why they are closing Toyota and Nissan Truck Plants all over the US.) The Ford Fusion is rated to have better quality than the Camry.…according to JD Power survey. The 09 Ford Hybrid Fusion beats out the Hybrid Camry…with 39 mpg and is best in class. The Ford Focus beats the Corolla. I could go on and on with facts on initial quality. Between 05 and 07, Ford has invested more than $22 billion in research and development of technologies: Eco-Boost, flex fuel, clean diesel, hybrids, plug in hybrids and hydrogen cars. Also, Ford has committed to bring more cars to the line up…and balance the truck line up. I, personally, am working with Ford on a project for the new Fiesta. The above stats definitely help prove my point…but drive one for yourself…and you can see exactly what I’m talking about!
Although Ford Sales were down in Nov, they were down the least compared to: Toyota, GM, Nissan, and Chrysler. Ford and Volvo had 16 vehicles in the 2009 model year on the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's list of the safest new cars, followed by Honda with 13 vehicles. The selected vehicles are the best in protecting people in front, side and rear crash tests based on institute evaluations during the year. The vehicles are required to have electronic stability control, or ESC, to qualify for the award.
Ford was led by the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan midsize cars with optional ESC; the Ford F-150 pickup, Ford Edge and Ford Flex mid-size sport utility vehicles; and the Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner small SUVs.
I bleed Ford blue=)
For Honda- I am incredibly grateful that Papaw Jenks and Dad and Murray decide to invest in the Honda Franchise. Honda has immensely blessed our business. Honda sold 1.36 million vehicles in the US so far this year…and are projecting to sell 1.6 million by 2010. WOW! Our Honda sales are very steady as the Honda line up is so strong with fuel-efficient cars, truck, suvs! Kelley Blue Book named Honda the best resale value brand and announced the 2009 model-year vehicles projected to retain the greatest amount of their original retail prices after five years of ownership.
Our FLM and Honda Stores are all ranked in the top 8% in the Nation...for sales and service. We are also the proud receipt of the ‘Best Place to Buy a Vehicle in Clarksville’ for 8 years now! God has blessed our business immensely...and I am grateful every day to come to work, do what I love…and work with awesome people. We have the best employees in TN!!
If you are in the market for a new or pre-owned vehicle, please let me know by calling: 931.245.5297 or emailing: jenkinsandwynne@yahoo.com. Your business is important to me and I am honored to help you! Most importantly, I would love to see you in one of our quality vehicles=)

Think Pink....
Think pink…well, we will be now! We found out that God has given us a baby GIRL! Baby Girl Combs cooperated very well on her first photo shoot. She moved her arms and legs…and even punched the ultra-sound thing when it came near her fist. It was hilarious. We got to see her head, heart, bladder, 2 arms, 2 legs, fingers and toes and loads more….she kept opening up her hand as if she was waving. It was thrilling. Such a miracle…such technology.
When the Ultra-Sound lady said, ‘oh it’s a girl’…Scott lit up, grinned great big and insisted that he knew it the whole time. HaHa. Later on in the day he revealed that he is glad baby Combs is a girl because that is what he wanted our first baby to be. Such a tender, sweet moment=) Made me feel so good.
We told mom and dad by giving them a Christmas Ornament for their tree that says, ‘It’s a Girl.’ They were shocked!
Enjoy the fun news…we sure are! Very blessed….

My fav holiday: Thanksgiving
Chloe loves her Uncle Scotty…and Cousin ‘Mohny’…(rhymes with Johnny)….was attached to both yesterday.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Our day started bright and early with Molly who decided that she wanted to play and not sleep in. Normally, we have to drag Molly out of bed because she wants to sleep-in and be lazy in the early morning…but not yesterday! Not the day when we could actually sleep-in just a tad=) Kids…(haha). While Scott was at practice, I had a wonderful run. The weather was too perfect! We made it over to mom and dads house later on. It was so beautiful outside that we all sat around while Dad and Blake smoked the turkey…for hours. Joni J (great friend from APSU/ works with Scott) and Mark (Fran’s fabulous dad) joined in the festivities. Lots of food was eaten and enjoyed.....and fantastic naps were taken. That evening, Mom, Dad, Saw-puppy, Scott, Molly and I went downtown to see all the impressive lights on display...from downtown to the Riverwalk….WOW! Clarksville has done such a great job with the Christmas presentation this year. It’s hard not to be in the spirit when Clarksville is pristinely decorated=) Awesome Thanksgiving overall!

On the run!
This past weekend, 2 of my college roomies and I drove to Knoxville, TN for some girly hangout time, shopping, and best of all a 15k (9.3 miles) race: CrossKnox. Knoxville has all kinds of parks...and now they have greenways to connect all the parks...therefore, creating a wonderful (and safe)environment. We only ran on a small portion of the parks/greenways. I think I heard they streatch for 42 miles across Knoxville. WOW! Burrrr! We had so much fun running all over Knoxville...literally. It was a beautiful (and cold) day. During the run, the temperature was fine…but once we stopped…wheeew! I held on to my hot chocolate a little tighter after the race=) Brooke, Herm and I had a fun, relaxing time together. Thankful for times like that to just be…be friends, be silly, just be…
On the night before the race, we met up with one of my buddies who goes to UTK: Aubrey. All of us carbed-up at Olive Garden (YUM!) and had an entertaining time giggling and catching up.All in all, this weekend reminded me how blessed I am to have such wonderful friends. God brings special people in your life for special reasons…and friendship is definitely a gift from God that I treasure.

Tis the Season/ Go Govs
Scott and I put our tree up on Sunday! He played Christmas Carols on the piano, too!The tree is huge (taller than Scott) and it's decorated in white lights with pink, lime green, and silver ornaments...and has basketballs all over! Cute!
Our other tree has colored lights and holds the collection of all the fun ornaments we've collected over the years.
Next week, Christmas wil be a month away! Crazy...
Also, we had a HUGE WIN over Belmont last night. Go Govs! I went to sleep smiling...it was wonderful to see the boys having fun and playing ball as a team. We have a newish team this year...and coming off several winning seasons...expectations are large. This year will definitely be a learning year.... with all the fresh, eager faces that have joined. The guys are doing so great! I am incredibly proud of each of them. They definitely fill our lives up with joy (winning or losing). We have such a neat opportunity with Scott as a basketball coach. Watching the players grow on and off the court is an amazing gift.
4 months and counting!
We are in month 4!
How big is the baby now? About five inches long and more than three and a half ounces — the size of your open hand. Body fat (baby's, that is) is beginning to form and will continue to accumulate through the end of the pregnancy. By the time the baby is born, body fat will make up about two-thirds of his/her weight.
The baby is almost certainly listening up by now. In fact, loud noises — the dog barking, the doorbell ringing — will actually startle the baby. The baby's eyes (which have fortunately finished their migration to the front of his or her head) are making small side-to-side movements and can even perceive some light, though the eyelids are still sealed. And since practice makes perfect, the baby is sharpening his/her sucking and swallowing skills. In fact, most of the survival reflexes that the baby will have at birth are being perfected in utero right now.
And here's some proof that the baby is truly one of a kind! Within the next week or so, the pads on the baby's fingertips and toes will become adorned with completely individual swirls and creases (aka fingerprints).

Up Up and Away!

Scott and I went rock climbing with the Loys and Mike on Saturday. It is Monday and I am still sore! Wow! It takes loads of muscle strength to climb. We had so much fun! Josh and Anne were so patient with us and kept us very safe. Not only did we get fantastic exercise, but we walked away feeling accomplished. We tackled a task that we had never really done before (other than a rock wall…but this was totally different!).
We went to Kings and Queens Bluff here in Clarksville. Who knew that such a serene place sat in the middle of Clarksville? If you haven’t gone there…do! It’s wonderful…and needless to say- simply beautiful.
On to the next adventure!
PS. We have got 90% of our Christmas shopping done! We went this past weekend and shopped till we dropped=) 44 days till Christmas Day!

Catch me if you can!
Baby decided to be funny and swim fast every time Dr Anderson tried to take a heartbeat measure. It was hilarious. We’ve got a mover and a shaker on our hands! Of course, I kept laughing which made the heartbeat thing sound even crazier! Finally, he got baby to stay still long enough to hear the heartbeat and get a good measure. Everything looks good!
Our next appt is Dec 9. Always a fun time for Scott and I!

A place for Baby Combs!
Hooray! After much thought and prayer, Scott and I have committed to an in-home sitter for Baby Combs. She's wonderful and we feel blessed to know her. She has 'raised' several (ooodles and ooodles) kids locally...and I have heard nothing but excellence and love about her and the friendly/structure (smile) environment she runs.
One decision down...a few more million to go!
Feeling better and better…I have started swimming as part of my cross-training….love it! It feels so great to be weightless…and get an excellent workout!
Some days I have great running days where I can run on pace…and sometimes Baby Combs has different plans...and I just slow my pace down. I definitely (100% of the time) listen to my body. No worries=)
Happy Day!

Grrr..Ahh...Geez
It happened. I am officially a victim of credit card fraud. Someone stole my credit card # and went to town buying well over $1000 worth of stuff from multiple stores today. I was on the phone for an hour straightening out the situation, making sure I will get a full refund, and cancelling my card all together. Scary! The credit card company called and asked if it was true that I was spending crazy amounts of money- several states away- in a matter of an hour. I assured him that 'no, I was not shopping' but that 'I had just returned from one of my Favorite restaurants (Lovin Spoonful) with a few buddies.' Grrrr....Ahhh...Geez!
Beware friends! It can happen to you! I have not a clue what happened…but I do know now that I am definitely more aware of how I use my card. (ps. My card was in my wallet the entire time.)

2 words: Hope Floats

2 words: Hope Floats. This is my all-time favorite cd…and I lost it somewhere between high school and college (or in Blake’s car)….super bummed out. I casually mentioned that this was my favorite cd a looong time ago to Scott….and in conversation mentioned that when I go past a music store, I try to find it...and have tried for years. Anyhoo, my dear, precious Husband surprised me with it last night…AND had my favorite clothing store gift card attached to it=) I went to bed smiling and woke up smiling….1) I LOVE this cd. It’s uplifting. It’s romantic. It’s happy. It’s fun to sing to. 2) and most importantly, the fact that he listened and gave me a thoughtful gift...means the world.
(this is a much bigger deal than you will ever know. For college graduation, I got kids plastic binoculars…. Very interesting. Great for all that bird watching I do! ha ha)
Scott has earned mega bonus points!
My next appointment is this Friday! It’s hard to believe that I will be ‘officially’ 4 months next Friday. Time is going fast!
This is the best I have felt of the 14/15 weeks thus far. So yea! It’s funny, I get little email messages a few times a week from http://www.whattoexpect.com/. The messages are catered to the week/stage pregnancy I’m in. So far, all the symptoms that are normal for that week….are the symptoms that I really do have. It’s amazing to me the research and thought that has gone behind all this. Because the messages are pretty accurate depending on the stage=)
Names? No, we haven’t thought of any keepers yet. Probably will wait till we find out what baby Combs is.
17 days till my race in Knoxville! I have a 9miler this Saturday….once I get passed that…I will be good. Time to taper after that….love taper time.
Still wearing my normal clothes. I can definitely feel changes…but so far they are not outward changes. I’m definitely in a crazy in-between stage. Not skinny. Not fat. In the middle. Should be an interesting transition.
Until the next time….Have a blessed day!

Welcome Home John Hill

Last night we had the great privilege of having dinner (kudos to Blackhorse!) with John (Betsy’s hubby) who just got home from 15 month deployment in Iraq. What a hero he is to us….and loads more. Thanks for serving our Nation, John. It’s because of heros’ like you (and Travis Humkey, and everyone else!!) we are able to live freely. I hope that our Nation will never forget the sacrifice our Troops make to help secure our freedom, etc. Seeing a Soldier is a humble reminder to me.
The other day, our brick house was shaking…I knew that Chinook’s (the one’s with double spinners) were flying by. Scott and I ran to our back porch and saw an incredible site- 3 of them flying somewhat low! I love living so close to Ft Campbell….as we are always in the presence of bravery and honor. As a Clarksvillian, I have the opportunity to interact and help and serve and give back. I’m sad for the parts of our Country that do not have this tremendous advantage.
We are praying for our Soldiers! Thank you for your service!

Alabama and such!
This has been a hectic week! I just got back from Birmingham...Ford meetings. Our hotel was attached to this super huge mall. Wonderful times. Me, Mom,Dad,Blake,Fran, and Chloe went...Scott is in the middle of bball=) It's GREAT to be home. Enjoyed the trip...but love being home! Scott will have to come with me for now on...as it costs me too much $$ to leave! He went 'shopping' all over town and come home with all kinds of goodies. Thirsty? We have every soda, juice, beverage imaginable in our fridge-etc. He said it was all for the baby...and my cravings. haha. Love that guy! Also, he made the kitty another home, cleaned the fridge and pantry out, unloaded the dishwasher, got grass mowed, bought 2 humongous bags of halloween candy … huumm..what else...the list goes on and on. I found little surprises all night! Being married to Scott is an adventure to say the least!
Interestingly enough, my yucky am feeling has gone away...and has been replaced with a yucky pm feeling. It's the craziest thing. I feel great all day long...and can eat anything. However, once about 5-6pm rolls around...'uugghh' sets in. I just can't seem to swallow anything at night without it making the queesy bug fly over me. Weird! I know! This too shall pass.....
Side note- our first game is next Thurs at HOME. We play Central MO Mules (Brad Loos Team). Come and support if you can! Let the madness begin, baby!
Congrats Laura and Ben Reed...Baby Rex is precious!
Thanks to those posting comments! Appreciated=)

Top 3 Questions, Etc
Wow! I am tired! Hasn’t stopped me from doing anything, but I can tell even more of a difference in my energy level in the past couple weeks. If you call past 8pm and don’t reach me…I’m probably snoozing! Haha! (only if I can get away with it!)
Last Saturday I ran 8 miles. A perfect day to run and be active. I love my new running area: I start from the house and run past the hospital and way way past the Winery, etc…depending on how many miles I have that day. This is also where we bike. Anyhoo, the run went great. Thankfully, there are port-o-potties on the way…and since I feel like I spend my life in the bathroom now…this just makes my running path even more conducive to my schedule=)
We also went to the APSU/TSU game in Nashville with the Midlicks. (Happy 9th birthday, Will!). Football weather is such great weather in the south. Makes me love living here even more.
Feeling pretty good. Other than being tried, I feel pretty good (on most occasions).
The ‘excitement’ support from all friends and family has been tremendous. Thank you all for your hugs, phone calls, cards, emails, etc. We are blessed with such a great cloud of strong community!
Here are the top 3 questions- this week- that people have been asking:
1) Do you want a boy or girl?
Scott and I do not have a preference. This apparently has come as a shocker to lots…but God will give us what we are supposed to have. Nothing we can do about it! We will be honestly thrilled with either!
2) What names have you picked out?
Haven’t even begun to think of names. I really haven’t thought about it at all. It will come to us….until then, I know I have 6 months=)
3) What bedroom will you put baby in?
Not even sure. Haven’t thought about this one either. Again, right now, time is on my side. 6 months is a long time. It’s a half of a year!!!! Haha…I’m sure we’ll decide sooner or later.
Scott and I have both been very lax thus far…and probably will be. Yes, we are thrilled beyond words with how God has blessed us already…but not consumed=) So if I’m not doing cartwheels to show my excitement, know that I’m just probably tired=) haha
Homework for you:
What lessons can you pass along? Email me! (Saying stuff verbally won’t stick…email me!) I want to compile a book of ‘friend’s advice’ for Scott and I to look on for years to come. (what items are a must to have? Items that are not so important? Advice....ETC)
This weekend is APSU homecoming. We will be out and about…so if you are around, hope to see you! No, won’t be doing the AP 5k this year…will be running but not at race pace. I am, however, training for a 15k in Knoxville. This 10 mile race is on Nov 22…I will be running with Herm, Ashley O, and Brooke!
Happy day to all!

Run Casey Run!
YES! to answer the most popular question: I have been keeping up my running! It's been great, actually. Along side running, I've been doing yoga and pilates...and walking a ton (thanks to my dear Miss Molly). Although everything I once knew as normal in my body has completely changed, and although my energy level has greatly decreased...I have found that I truly feel better after I have exercised. Also, although the queasy bug likes to visit about every 2-3 hours...I now know to keep a little food on my stomach. I eat small (healthy) snacks to minimize the nauseous feeling. I've learned that as long as I keep on my normal routine (work, exercise, etc)...that I do not feel as yucky if I am doing something and am occupied. So on I go!
Last weekend Scott and I went to Sharp Top Cove a Young life Property in Georgia. Our YL kids from C-ville went…so we went as adult guests and simply had a blast! Very rewarding trip. Anyhoo, I know I was physically active from the moment I woke up till the moment I went to bed…long days to say the least. However, it felt so wonderful to be so active (and not lazy!). Also, it was a dream for me to have Scott at a YL camp…finally after all these years, he was able to go and see exactly where my heart is: YL. To see him step up and serve the kids…was awesome!
Which brings me to my last point- Scott has been wonderful x’s 10 throughout these past 12 weeks. Really, think about something fantastic and multiply it. He has been very hands on and loves to learn and grow with me. Very supportive and I couldn’t ask for anything more. He has been to every doc appt and shows his excitement in fun ways! Very grateful for a Husband that welcomes this huge change in our lives. Scott is one of the best people I know…I am lucky enough that he ‘recruited me’ and ask me to be his life-long partner. Love you, babe!

Week 12- The baby's growth
Week 12...here is where the baby is growth wise! (took from an email I get weekly from www.whattoexpect.com)
This week marks a turning point for your baby. The herculean task of developing new bodily structures is nearing an end as most of your baby's systems are fully formed. Now comes the maintenance phase, during which the systems continue to mature for the next 28 weeks and the organs get to work.
Your little fetus weighs as much as half an ounce now, and the crown-to-rump length is about two and a half inches (the size of a large plum — busily working his or her way through the whole produce department). It's hard to believe but your baby has more than doubled in size during the past three weeks. And that's just on the outside — there's plenty going on inside too. The digestive system is beginning to flex its digestive muscle — literally — as it starts practicing contraction movements, a skill your baby will need after birth to push food through the digestive tract. The pituitary gland at the base of the brain has started producing hormones. And the bone marrow is making white blood cells, which will one day help your baby fight infection (including all those germs passed around the snot-nosed playgroup).

3-2-1 Say Cheese!
So, on separate occasions, we got together with both sides of the family. Scott and I, being the picture-taking-lovers we are, told the family that 'while we are all together, let's take a family picture!' I set the camera on a 10 second timer...to take 3 pics in a row real fast. As we were counting down- Scott yelled, 'We're having a baby!' The results are priceless! 2 of the pictures are in the previous post. Exciting! Shocking!

Come April or May?

Hello all! I always told myself that I would start a blog when the Combs Crew expands....well, good news! Come April or May...baby Combs is on the way! Miss Molly is going to be a big sister! Due date is May 1, 2009. I am a few days short of being 3 months pregnant. WOW! We made a personal decision to wait and share the wonderful news until the 1st Trimester is out of the way. Please join us in celebrating and praying for our newest addition.
My hope for the blog is to remain in strong communication throughout the whole pregnancy and well beyond with all of our dear friends and family.
Milestones we have reached so far: we saw the baby! we heard the babies heart beat!
Our Dr is the wonderful man here in Clarksville: Dr Jeff Anderson...great family friend. We are blessed to have him be our expert!
Scott and I have been most thrilled to share this news...we have held it in for nearly 6 weeks!
