Shoes, Santa...and a dream

SHOES: we came home so i took ckc's shoes off. well, she wanted them on. i left her in the tv room and went to the kitchen. i was in the kitchen doing something and i noticed that ckc was quiet for a few minutes (rare!)..so i peaked in to see what she was doing. she had put her own shoes back on! each shoe on the the correct foot. she was determined. it was really quite cute. (we took a pic to celebrate..yet for some reason it won't download.)
SANTA: we saw Santa today. This was ckc's first experience with Santa. I deem it successful as there weren't any tears. Instead of tears, she froze. didn't move a muscle. didn't blink. didn't smile. froze.

A DREAM: Aug 28 in Louisville, Scott will be united in a community...the IronMan community, that is! Scott will be an IronMan (140.6) on Aug 28 in Louisville. He signed up today! What a dream! On Aug 28, Scott will swim 2.4miles open water swim, bike 112 miles, and run 26.2 miles at the Ford Lousiville Ironman. He starts his training in Jan w/ a 36 week training plan. We decided that since it was both of our dreams to complete a full Ironman.. that we would do one at a time for logistic reasons...with both of our work/life schedules and with ckc being so young and need of full attention.... that it would be tough for both of us to train for such a long distance and still remain balanced. So, Scott has his turn now.....and is one step closer to accomplish his/our dream. Training requires such discipline and mental strength and healthy diet. I am incredibly proud of him and for him...and as I told him today, signing up and committing is the hardest step! Stayed tuned for details. He will need your encouragement from now till the Event...as it is a gruesome task.

catching up

this was my dress when i was a little older than CKC. She's now 19 months.... and I think mom said I was 22+ months. mom saved it for me...and i'm so glad... because it was fun playing dress up with CKC.

my little bundle...

georgous site... you agree? this is what a sunset looks like from my office.

Our annual Christmas Party...leo, we missed you! we are now 16 people strong. the theme this year was Clarksville Casserole Chirstmas. Every year, we dirty santa ornaments. And it nevers fails that every year Scott gets stuck with the ugly/scary ornament. Years ago, we inherited the creepy doll head (thanks, t)...and I had nightmares about it forever. This year, we inherited the doll head's compainon: Santa. (thanks again, t). since we never break this tree down (stick the whole thing in a closet..and drag it in and out year after year...the only change..is adding our random ornaments. Oh, I got a sparkly pickle one year... yeah- told you- we really don't have superb luck w/ ornaments!) the Lady dolls head and Santa will be there forever together...and they lived happily ever after.
