8 months old today...and sassy!

She rolls overs. Everything is 'dada.' Pulls and holds with a tight grip on everything. Still sleeping from about 730pm-630am. Her hair is getting darker and longer. Her 2 teeth are showing more every day. I think she's working on a 3rd tooth. Loves to eat. I haven't found anything she doesn't like ot eat. She loves water!Bath time is fun...she likes to splash and laugh at herself. Loves to play the piano with Scott....and 'sing.' Working on clapping her hands. Facinated by Molly. She's a big girl!

Missouri- Illinois- Indiana…oh my!

What a whirlwind these past few days have been. We traveled about 1000+ miles in a few short days. Went to the APSU vs Mizzou game in Columbia, MO. Loads of fun. It was a pretty good game. Flat in spots but the boys rallied and played till the end….and didn’t give up. We met up with wonderful friends: the Leroux’s (former APSU golf coach…now Mizzou golf coach), the Rost’s (Ethan was Scott’s roommate at Mizzou), and the Ailors (a gracious family that took Scott in while he played for Mizzou). A rich time, indeed. CKC (and those around her) survived the game and enjoyed ‘cheering’ loud/ taking a nap during game time.

(the Ailor's....and before the game)

(time out...and roomie Ethan)

(the Leroux's....and Scott being interviewd by several MO newspapers about him coming back to MO...)

(on the court during practice the night before....1st snow!)

Scott’s dad and Denise got married yesterday in IN. Lovely ceremony. Nice to be with the family again. CKC was a social butterfly and enjoy ‘talking’ to all her friends.

Lovely moments...

CKC and I went to Louisville the night before the UK game to visit Ellen and Brian. Lovely moments!
We ate at 2 wonderful spots with such unique and tasty food. Lin's Paradise Cafe and Toast. Eaten at either place? I wish I could figure out a way for you to taste my food by reading this blog. Both places were unique and delicious.
Ellen and Brian's house was built in the 30's. Gosh- it (and the whole neighborhood) was full of incredible detail and awesome character. I loved it! Once again, so very blessed with wonderful friends.
CKC is sitting in a 'big girl chair' in a resturant for the 1st time=)

I left proud....

Travis and Greg....we are walking in! The traditional pyrimid. AP in a time out.

Happy CKC- Daddy- Sleepy CKC. (She took 2 naps during the game- despite all that noise!)

Tip Off. Mommy and CKC cheering on the Govs!
Blake,Fran and crew came up! And, Daddy holding CKC before the game=)

This weekend APSU played UK. Fun and awesome experience. Enjoyed being there and being apart of the craziness.

I left UK proud because:
1) before the start of the game, as the color guard marched off…the AP team was the only team on the court still standing with hands over hearts…showing respect. True Class.
2) During the last few seconds, our guys still hustled….and even thought UK shot the ball on the last second (an un-spoken NO NO that shows disrespect to the other team)…our guys walked off proud. (I am grateful that we have coaches that would detest that. Have you ever noticed that AP hasn’t scored 100 pts in a long time? It’s bc our coaching staff won’t let the players….as a sign of respect for the opponent. They will pass and hold the ball…but are not supposed to shoot out of intention. Nor does our coaching staff allow a last second shot to go up (they hold the ball if the shot clock allows it)….as shooting the ball when you are at home….and it’s obvious that you are going to win….is basically even more of a slam in the face than the win itself.) (All the above is true if it’s not a close game at the end.)
3)**Even though the score doesn’t reflect it, AP did GREAT! I really did walk away with a smile. Most of the game we were only down by 10..or less several times…up until the last 5 min. Our guys just got tired! But, my goodness, they should be pooped…they hustled well and certainly made us proud. UK is ranked and has tremendous talent….and the Peay stayed with them. If we can play that well, as a team, this year…then we are going to be all right….and we are a fresh team! Only one senior!

The Peay needs support. I sat beside President Hall during the game and he commented on how loyal UK fans are. There were people sitting so high up that I couldn’t even see them. No, AP isn’t a high major….but AP is a solid ball club that NEEDS OUR COMMUNITY’S SUPPORT. We were 1 pt away from a 3-peat last year….The ‘6th man’ is vital for the guys. Maybe it’s bc I’m married to a coach, but I see 1st hand how much the guys practice-how much they sacrifice- and how much they truly need the Dunn to be filled. It makes a world of difference to them when they see/realize/feel that their community is cheering them on….and not just in a ‘big game’ or a ‘tournament game.’ They need support the entire season.

LET’S GO PEAY!

Young Life Campaigner Christmas

Tonight we had our Campaigner Christmas reunion. Met them when they were seniors at CHS and have become quite close with them over the years. Love them each dearly and have grown as a person from knowing them. It's been very rewarding seeing them grow. They are now Soph in College. Precious, precious friends....

We played dirty santa...a tradition!

It was also Gabi's bday! I make her a cake=)

Just as we were getting ready to eat, I turned around and literally this is how they were....plate in hand- ready to go! They were hungry...thought it was a cute pic. Oh, and now that I just look back, I noticed they every other plate was a different color...wonder if they planned that? Hum...

CKC loves being apart of the girls and had a great night being a social butterfly!
